This page is for teams to find information about the season, with links to resources about the challenge - missions & project, team work exercises, tournament registrations and your own Team blogs.
All teams must first register with US FIRST (https://gofll.usfirst.org/). Complete the registration for each team competing. This is also your opportunity to purchase the field setup kit (LEGO elements and mat that the robot interacts with) and a FIRST LEGO League optimized NXT kit. Keep track of the team ID assigned to your team(s) from FIRST. Your team ID will be required to register for local events (e.g. booster and qualifier).
Click on the link above to complete the team registration survey (you need your team ID from FIRST). The survey is required from all teams intending to participate in a Qualifying Tournament in the 2010 season. The survey will provide important details about your first, second and third preferences for tournament locations, as well as demographic data for fund raising and sponsor interviews.
Based on your team survey, teams will be assigned to qualifier events. From Oct 4 - Oct 8 teams will need to complete the registration process (acknowledge event assignment and submit payment). Your response to the pre-registration survey will help secure your position in your preferred tournament.
There are a great number of Challenge Resources available to you through the US FIRST site, including mission details and the ever-evolving Q & A. You can find this at the US FIRST FLL
(www.USFIRST.org > Robotics Programs > FLL).
This new site is built so that your teams can interract with these resouces. If you find cool web based research content, share it here with the the
The Colorado FIRST site will probably carry the same ID and e-mail that your account with US FIRST carries - we manually update the Colorado FIRST site with the US FIRST team registration every few days. There is no systematic interface between the two sites at this time.
This is how the planning committee will communitcate with you, the coaches, teams & volunteers. We will generate news pages for the user group you are a part of - Team Coaches and Mentors, Volunteers, Officials, etc. The updates will come to you by e-mail, or if you elect, RSS feed. Of course, you may also log on to the site to check for updates.
If you receive an e-mail, the subject may say something like, "Colorado FIRST has sent you an update". In the body of the message, you'll find a link to the new article. If you click the link, you'll be presented with the Colorado FIRST web page, and quite possible the message, "Access Denied". This is because you may need to log in to the Colorado FIRST site before the system will present some pages. Some pages are publicly visible, but some will require a log in.
Survey closed?
I was nosing around this website & found this page. When I went to the tournament survey page listed above, it gave me a warning that the survey was closed ... I assume it is closed for LAST season and that you're not yet accepting surveys for this season. Is that correct? And, if so, when should we be completing the survey for the 2010 Body Forward season?
Jr First Lego League
I probably missed something some where but is there going to be a Jr First Lego competation?
