Qualifier Registration update

Updated: October 6th - planning to close Qualifier registration October 14th.

Teams,

If you have already registered for a Qualifier, congratulations and thank you for completing the process quickly! Please consider purchasing a Qualifier t-shirt to commemorate the season. You can find your Qualifier t-shirt available for purchase on your team page.

If you have not registered for a Qualifier, please complete your registration quickly, remember, this year registration is on a  first come, first served basis and requires that you meet the team volunteer commitment (check with your preferred event to see what the commitment is).

There is about three weeks until the first event! We need all teams settled in a Qualifier by Friday October 14th to allow event planning to proceed and those teams attending the Liberty Qualifier on November 5th to prepare. If your team has not completed registration by the 14th then we will assign your team to an event based on your preferences specified in the team survey and event availability. If, by the 14th, you have not completed your team survey and event preference we will assume your team is not participating in a Qualifier event - so please do the survey if you want to participate! Even if you are assigned, we'll still be asking for team volunteers.

The Preston Qualifier is FULL.

The Southern Colorado Qualifier has about 4 spots left, please contact Marie Bush if you are interested in one of these last four spots.

The School of Mines Qualifier has about 4 spots left.

The North Metro Denver has lots of space, however, there are more teams indicating they want to attend than the event can hold. Get your volunteers and register now to reserve your spot.

The Monarch Qualifier has 5 spots left, please contact Jenny Golder if you are interested in one of these last 5 spots.Read more >>>

Team details on your Colorado FLL web site

The pre-registration has closed, but there may still be details you want to address - your team name, number of kids, rookie status.  You may want to be sure you have the correct qualifier selected (although that should be stable by now).  We love to hear from you but would really be a big help if you could make these changes on your own.  If you have a tough time with the links embedded in the e-mail, please follow the simple steps to

  1. Log in to the site (ColoradoFIRST.org)
  2. Use the "Edit Team #" field to change the team details.

Display your NXT screen on your PC!

From the great state of Louisiana, Scot Marshall recently shared this handy tip:

Here is a great teaching tool I just discovered. You can project the NXT display live through the computer onto the wall or other means.
When you click the buttons on the PC image of the NXT, it clicks them on the NXT and you get to see the display change. Changing it on the robot also changes it on the PC Display.Read more >>>

Tournament Process Overview

Tournaments and Volunteers

Most coaches have several questions at the beginning of the season, especially relating to schedules and tournament events.  The tournament planning committee, those that organize your tournaments, are anxious to be sure the events are the best they can be for your teams.  The single most significant element of a tournament is the volunteers who make it happen - the Judges, Referees and Event Staff working the day of the tournament to bring it all together.

This year, our process is to identify the volunteers EARLY in the season.  You'll find that when you log in to the site, you'll go through a couple of steps for your team: First, we need to learn a few things about your team and how we can contact you over the course of the season through the Team Survey.  Next you can choose a tournament for your team to attend in November.
