Colorado FLL Blog *begins*

<p>Hey everybody!</p> <p>Stephen our web guy has just put up this new blog site and which can use for interractive, bi-directional, full duplex e-chats!</p> <div>I&nbsp;can tell you all about what's going on in the world of FIRST in Colorado, and you can tell me all about what you think of it!</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The really BIG news for on this third week-end in February is the FRC robotics championship coming up in about 5 weeks at DU!&nbsp; Any of you that have been part of FIRST in Colorado for more than a year may know that the FRC Colorado Regional has been held at DU for the last 5 years.&nbsp; This is the contest for the Classic FIRST Robotics Challenge - the games that started it all for FIRST 19 years ago.&nbsp; These robots play on a basketball court size field - well, ok, it's actually DU's hockey arena!&nbsp; But there are pits, competitions, aliances, sweet 16 and final four, awards, video, music, crowds, cheering etc.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Of course, FLL will be there, too!&nbsp; Our top two Championship winners are invited to come demo their bots, run some practice runs, compete head to head even!&nbsp; And of course, check out the big bots and see how the high school teams do it!</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The event is held at DU from Thursday Mrach 26 through Saturday the 28th.&nbsp; Admission is always FREE, and it's a great celebration of upcoming scientists and engineers.&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Of course, the very best way to get enjoy this type of event is to GET INVOLVED, so please, consider volunteering to support the event in some capacity - judges and referees are always needed, but there are plenty of other jobs too!&nbsp; Check out the web site at</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div><a target="_blank" href="http://www.ColoradoFIRST.org/coloradoregional.htm">http://www.ColoradoFIRST.org/coloradoregional.htm</a></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>and if you can't find the Volunteer Signup link, it is here:</div> <div><a target="_blank" href="http://www.coloradofirst.org/volunteers.htm#FRC%20Event%20Volunteers">http://www.coloradofirst.org/volunteers.htm#FRC%20Event%20Volunteers</a></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Looking forward to seeing you there!</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Ross Parrent</div>
